I have a delicious, healthy chocolate recipe for you to try out this Easter. In a post earlier this week (how to choose a healthier chocolate this Easter) I mentioned that the best way to enjoy the health benefits of chocolate is to consume it in the form of raw cacao powder or raw cacao beans, without any unhealthy, fake or processed ingredients added to it. This recipe does just that! You can enjoy this as a dairy free, gluten free, nutrient dense dessert that will give you your 'chocolate fix' in a healthy way.
I first found this recipe from the ADSA (Association of Dietitians in South Africa) blog. They suggested using orange juice and orange rind, but I decided to leave that out.
Healthy chocolate mousse recipe
1 ripe avo
1 ripe banana
3 Tablespoons raw cacao powder
2 teaspoons xylitol
Put all ingredients into a blender and blend together
Dish into dessert glasses and put into the fridge to ‘set’
Serve and enjoy!
